Drew and Alana are two good ol’ Midwesterners who have found
themselves living on the east coast.  Alexandria, VA is treating
them well.  Alana just started her 5th year teaching 3rd grade in
Springfield, VA.  Drew is a Project Manager of Special Exhibits at
the Smithsonian’s Asian Art Museum, the Freer and Sackler
Galleries.

If you already know Drew and Alana, then you know about the
important things in their lives.  Their cats, Guinness and Jack,
are the two cutest and naughtiest kitties ever.  They are also
very spoiled and very often photographed, as you will probably
be able to tell by the picture page on this site.  As far as food
goes, Drew enjoys very good beer, and won’t let Miller or Bud
touch his lips.  Alana enjoys ice cream, especially the frozen
custard down the street.  Both feel that they could live on sushi
if given the opportunity.  The couple enjoys a wide variety of
activities.  They really enjoy hiking, traveling, and a wide array
of music.  Drew and Alana often visit museums wherever they
go.  Alana has learned a great deal on the finer points of exhibit
development from Drew, and Drew knows all about the life of a
third-grade teacher.  Movies and books are another way they
spend time.  Usually they are agreed upon, although every once
in a while Alana gets Drew to watch a romantic comedy, and
Drew persuades Alana to watch a horror movie.

Both Drew and Alana are Hawkeyes, having met at the
University of Iowa.  Their families still live in the Midwest
(Drew
's in Des Moines and Alana’s in Chicago).  They both miss
living in the Midwest and get back to visit as much as possible
(which usually isn’t enough!).  Hopefully someday they will
return.  Their friends are now scattered all over the country
which makes for good traveling.  Who knows, perhaps you are
even one of them!

Take some time to browse through the site.  Several albums
have been posted on the Photos page and Drew has posted
some of his tunes on the Music page.  New additions will
continue to be made to the site, so please come back often.
